In Episode 31 of the Red 7 Movie Cast podcast Hemant gets things started by clearing things up around why he decided to skip the Netflix Original film Tau, starring Maika Monroe, despite being excited for its release. He then talks about a movie watching milestone his son may have reached this past weekend after watching Transformers: The Last Knight.
Hemant also briefly talks about the 2010 heist film Takers starring Idris Elba, Hayden Christensen, and Paul Walker that he re-watched on a lazy Friday night. It turns out he watched this film after calling it quits on the Amazon Original series The Man in the High Castle, a show that he was looking forward to, but ended up being mostly garbage.
And speaking of garbage, Hemant talks about an amusing debate going on at screencrush.com about whether it is OK to throw your garbage on the theater floor, rather than take it out to a trashcan after the film is over. Hemant weighs in on the debate and picks a side.
He then wraps up the pre-show ramblings with an exciting rumor that an Alien TV show may be in the works.
It’s then onto this weeks film reviews including the teen comedy Blockers from director Kay Cannon, the writer of the Pitch Perfect films. Blockers is film #15 in Hemant’s 52 Films Directed by Women project. The episode wraps up with a review of the latest dinosaur blockbuster, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
