Episode 34: Rampage & Set It Up

For someone who hasn’t really committed to watching many TV series over the last few years, Hemant has been steadily getting back into enjoying some shows. This past week he wrapped up seasons 1 and 2 of the Amazon Original series Sneaky Pete starring Giovanni Ribisi, and shares his thoughts on it.

Ready Player One also hit homes this week so Hemant and his son re-visited it on Bluray. He doesn’t talk too much about the film (since he covered pretty extensively in a previous episode), but he does go off on a bit of a tangent discussing how UltraViolet digital copies that are included with many Blurays are basically useless in Canada if you want to watch them on a device like an AppleTV or Roku.

It’s then onto the reviews for the week and he starts off with Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson, which was also recently released on Bluray. He wraps up the episode with film #17 on his 52 Films Directed by Women project, Set It Up, a Netflix Original film starring Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell, and directed by Claire Scanlon.

Episode 33: You Were Never Really Here & Thoroughbreds

In Episode 33 of the Red 7 Movie Cast podcast Hemant gives the lowdown on his recent family vacation to Jasper National Park in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, and discusses his heartbreak and excitement around the blockbuster trade between the Toronto Raptors and the San Antonio Spurs. He also gives his opinion about seasons 1 and 2 of the Amazon Prime series Goliath starring Billy Bob Thornton, which he somehow managed to binge.

He then shares his thoughts on 2 films he watched this past week including You Were Never Really Here from director Lynne Ramsay and starring Joaquin Phoenix. This was film #16 on his 52 Films Directed by Women project.

He wraps up the episode with Thoroughbreds from director Cory Finley starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Olivia Cooke, and Anton Yelchin.
