Episode 46: Ant Man and the Wasp, Christine, and a Friday the 13th Reboot?

It’s still October so that means the month of horror continues. In this episode of the podcast Hemant talks about some news including the possibility of LeBron James’ production company Springhill Entertainment rebooting the Friday the 13th movie franchise.

And speaking of exciting, Hemant filled out a survey from Landmark Cinemas and all signs are pointing to a new premium theater making its way into Saskatoon. This is purely speculation, but the questions in the survey seemed to suggest that.

Another edition of From the Treadmill is next where he revisits Star Wars: The Last Jedi over the course of three runs. Hemant thinks he has finally landed on an opinion of the latest film in the Skywalker story.

It’s then on to the feature reviews for the week including the newest Marvel film to hit bluray, Ant Man and the Wasp. The episode wraps up with Christine, another John Carpenter film from 1983 about a demonic Pontiac Fury.

Episode 45: Skyscraper, Halloween, and Apostle

We’re well into October and Hemant is continuing with his horror movie theme for the month. In this episode he starts off with a couple of films he revisited. He ended up re-watching Rogue One: A Star Wars Story while running on his treadmill, and explains why he loves that film so much. He then briefly talks about Iron Man 2 and why that films still works for him.

It’s then onto the feature reviews for the week including Skyscraper the new Dwayne Johnson film that just hit bluray and Halloween, the 1978 genre defining film from John Carpenter. He wraps up the episode by sharing his thoughts on the new Netflix film that premiered at Fantastic Fest earlier this year, Apostle.

Episode 44: The First Purge, Uncle Drew, The Thing, and More

It was Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada so Hemant had a long weekend to put in a little extra movie time. In this week’s episode he talks about some exciting Star Wars news regarding the upcoming live action TV series that will be debuting on the new Disney streaming service.

He then briefly talks about a couple movies he had a chance to revisit, including Fast Five from 2011, as well as the 1997 blockbuster Titanic which he shared with his oldest son.

It’s then onto the main reviews for the week including two new Bluray releases, The First Purge and Uncle Drew. Hemant then wraps up the episode by sharing his thoughts on John Carpenter’s 1982 sci-fi horror classic, The Thing – a film that he embarrassingly hadn’t experienced until this past week.
