Episode 43: Hold the Dark & Support the Girls

It’s been a few episodes since Hemant talked Star Wars. In episode 43 he reacts to some recent news regarding the “galaxy far, far, away”. He also re-watched Solo: A Star Wars Story which was just released on Bluray, so he chats a bit about the film, as well as some special features on the disk.

It’s then time for the two featured reviews for the week including Jeremy Saulnier’s latest film Hold the Dark, as well as the indie film Support the Girls from director Andrew Bujalski.

Episode 30: Sicario: Day of the Soldado & The Endless

It was Canada Day this past weekend and Hemant talks about what he and his family did to celebrate in Episode 30 of the Red 7 Movie Cast. He then shares some interesting news that surfaced this week. He talks about a recent rumour that there may be a LucasFilm shake-up at the top including the replacement of Kathleen Kennedy with the current Marvel Studios boss, Kevin Feige.

And to go along with that Star Wars news Hemant discusses the possibility of the long rumoured Kenobi film not being developed for a theatrical release, but for an exclusive release on the upcoming Disney Streaming Service. How cool would that be – as long as it is available in Canada!

And while he’s on the topic of streaming services, he gets into a bit of a rant about how the sheer number of different services is kind of feeling like the old cable TV model of choosing packages and channels to subscribe to.

It’s then time for this week’s reviews which include Sicario: Day of the Soldado from director Stefano Sollima and writer Taylor Sheridan and an independent film that made a splash at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, The Endless.
