Episode 52: Eyes Wide Shut & Reflecting on Year One of Red 7

It’s hard to believe, but this episode marks the one year anniversary of the Red 7 Movie Cast podcast. I find it pretty crazy that I’ve been able to maintain a weekly podcast for this long. I start off this episode reflecting on the last year, talking about what I’ve learned from producing this podcast, how I have found it to be fulfilling, and how I see it evolving over the next year.

After the celebration I continue with film number four of my Stanley Kubrick Experience, sharing my thoughts on his final film from 1999, Eyes Wide Shut.

Episode 49: The Shining

Over the last week and a half Hemant has been fighting off a bad cold. During this time he has spent a lot of time on the couch, revisiting a number of different films. He doesn’t dive very deep into talking about them, but he does give his brief thoughts on them.

He also discusses some exciting news about some unlikely TV series that are in development, including a new Star Wars series featuring the Rogue One character Cassian Andor, as well as a TV series adaptation of the 1985 Joe Dante film Explorers.

This episode wraps up with an in-depth discussion of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, as Hemant continues his exploration of this iconic director’s work.

Episode 48: 2001: A Space Odyssey & Mr. Robot Season 3

Episode 48 marks the beginning of Hemant’s exploration of films by Stanley Kubrick. Over the next several weeks he will be watching various films from this iconic director’s filmography.

In this inaugural episode he visits 2001: A Space Odyssey from 1968. He’s not proud of it, but this is the first time Hemant has watched this film. He gives his thoughts on this space opera, while also taking some time to talk about a few of the more popular theories that try to make heads or tails of this movie.

Hemant also briefly talks about season 3 of the TV series Mr. Robot and why he has a love/hate relationship with this series.
